The Roxie Road

Built in 1909, the Mission District’s Roxie Theater is home to countless film festivals, social justice documentaries, and screenings that honor film history. This year, as the host of the Green Film Festival, the Roxie put the spotlight on different ways to positively impact the environment—including efforts to reduce food waste. In collaboration around this event, we teamed up to rescue leftover popcorn from the Roxie’s machines at the end of each night. We haul the popcorn into our kitchens and infuse that classic, buttery movie theater flavor into an ice cream loaded with our house caramel and a coffee-flour cookie crumble.
