Happy National Ice Cream Day!
Posted by Alec Boyle on
The third Sunday in July is a very special day around these parts. National Ice Cream Day is a once-a-year celebration of our favorite things—the frozen concoctions that fill our freezers, cones, and hearts. This year on Sunday, July 16th, we’re not just celebrating ice cream, we’re celebrating the amazing ice cream lover! All of our scoop shops—in Portland, Los Angeles, and San Francisco—will be showing their appreciation for their most dedicated fans with hourly random giveaways of Salt & Straw scoops, flights, swag, and a grand prize of a free shipment of ice cream anywhere in the United States. From the hour we open to the hour we close, lucky ice cream lovers will be surprised with spontaneous gifts and moments of delight! Stop by this Sunday for a scoop of a Salt & Straw classic (like Strawberry Honey Balsamic with Black Pepper and Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons) or one of our beloved summer Berry Series flavors and you could win a free Salt & Straw t-shirt, hat, tasting flight, ice cream scooper to perfect the ideal at-home cone. Win the big prize, a free delivery of five pints sent anywhere in the country, and you can continue the ice cream celebration for weeks to come. (Yes, every shop is participating—even Portland’s Wiz Bang Bar!) This is just our way of saying thank you to our ice cream lovin’ friends and family for standing by us over the past six years. Thank you for bringing our handmade pints to your birthday parties and besties, thank you for recommending the local products and artisans that have become a cherished part of our flavor family, thank you for standing in line for your favorite flavors in rain or shine, thank you for bringing your babies for their first cone and your sweetheart for your first dates, and thank you for making our jobs full of so many smiles. You’re the reason why we make our ice cream in small batches in local kitchens, pack each pint by hand, and experiment with deliciously interesting flavors you’ve never even dreamed could be combined in a single scoop. We’re in the business of being the best part of someone’s day—so this National Ice Cream Day, join us in raising a cone to the best ice cream community anyone could ask for.
