We love nothing more than sharing ice cream across the U.S., but it takes a little extra bit of care to get orders safely to your door. Each box is safely hand-packed using our recyclable insulated box liners and slabs of dry ice to ensure a frozen arrival. Dry ice requires special shipping and handling processes by our delivery partners. We’re continuing to explore opportunities for lower shipping costs - that way, there's more for the sprinkles.
While shopping, please keep in mind that we will add shipping fees when you checkout.
While we do our best to always ship orders as fast as possible, timelines may be extended due to weather, demand, and other unforeseen events. Typically, your order will ship 1-3 days after being placed.
Once your order has been fulfilled, we'll send you a shipping confirmation email with a link to your FedEx tracking information so you can keep an eye on your ice cream's journey! Questions? Email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Nope! Our packages don't require a signature - this is to make sure your ice cream doesn't get shipped back to a shipping facility. If you're not home at the time of delivery, your package will be left outside your door. We strongly recommend that you unpack your pints as soon as possible to prevent unwanted thawing.
All Salt & Straw products are shipped with dry ice. Each shipment is packed with just enough dry ice to disappear before you open your package; but if you open your package to find pieces of dry ice still remaining, DO NOTTOUCH the dry ice. Leave it in the box, and put the box outside (or in a garage) so that the dry ice can naturally dissipate. Ensure that children or pets will not be able to access the box. Do not attempt to seal the dry ice off in a jar or container, as it may cause harm. Please carefully read the dry ice warning instructions, which are included in every package. Salt & Straw will not be held liable for any damage caused by improper handling of dry ice material.
We ship all our pints from our Portland kitchen, so the flavors available in our Oregon scoop shops are the ones available to order (with some exceptions). Our online menu changes frequently, so please come back and check for new flavors - you may just find a new favorite!
All ice cream orders are final. Your ice cream order is always backed by our "Melt-Free Guarantee." If your ice cream doesn’t arrive frozen, we’ll reship your order and do what we can to make it right.
If you experience a delay in transit that affects the quality of your ice cream delivery, no worries! Your ice cream order is always backed by our "Melt-Free Guarantee." If your ice cream doesn’t arrive frozen, we’ll reship your order and do what we can to make it right.
Because we want your full order to arrive safe and sound, non-ice cream items (socks, hats, t-shirts, etc.) are usually shipped separately from your ice cream order. We typically ship these items via FedEx Ground. If you need your item to arrive sooner, not to worry! You can reach out to us via email at: email@example.com and we'll be happy to help get your order to you sooner.
We ship our ice cream using ClimaCell insulated box liners. ClimaCell ismaterial made from renewable plant-based components and paper. No, all of our flavors contain sugar. Sugar plays an important role in freezing ice cream (and, of course, makes it sweeter, too). Our co-founder and head ice cream maker Tyler and his R&D team are constantly experimenting to innovate how we make ice cream. We'll be sure to let you know when we crack the code to a deliciously creamy sugar-free recipe!
You can find allergen information for each flavor on the flavor product detail page. Unfortunately, we don't have nutritional information available for all of our flavors at this time - stay tuned for exciting changes to come! Some things to know: - Our ice cream does not contain eggs, unless individually noted. - All of our ice creams are gluten-free, unless wheat/gluten is listed as an allergy on the flavor product detail page. - We use non-GMO, organic glucose syrup in all of our ice creams. It does contain corn, but is very different from high-fructose corn syrup. - Those with SEVERE nut allergies should know that we process and use both tree nuts and peanuts in our kitchens.
