A scoop that channels the spirit of Reese’s Cups, but with a flavor pairing that dates back to chocolate’s earliest days. The Olmecs first enjoyed chocolate as a bitter, chile-spiked drink, and we’re riffing on that tradition by swirling Fly By Jing’s Sichuan-style chili crisp into gobs of natural peanut butter. Layered between slabs of chocolate, our homemade peanut butter cups are smashed into bite-sized pieces and folded into milk chocolate ice cream. Swirls of peanut butter marshmallow fluff add a Moon Pie effect, further softening the chili’s heat while amping up its flavor. Proof that the best flavor pairings stand the test of time—and only get better.

The iconic combo of peanut butter and chocolate gets a fiery upgrade with the addition of Fly By Jing’s Shichuan Chili Crisp. Stirred into smooth, natural peanut butter and layered in between slabs of chocolate to create our housemade peanut butter cups, the flavors come together and blow up on your tastebuds, delivering a kicked-up version of the familiar pairing.

The peppers in Fly By Jing’s Chili Crisp have natural sweetness and pleasant aromatics that marry well with the chocolate; other brands lean too garlicky or play up the spicy qualities of the chilis. It was the perfect condiment to incorporate in this flavor.

Fly By Jing, founded by chef Jing Gao in 2018, is a Los Angeles-based brand bringing Chinese flavors to the modern kitchen. Inspired by the bold tastes of Sichuan and the energy of Chengdu’s legendary “fly restaurants,” their condiments deliver bold flavors using high-quality ingredients. Their Sichuan Chili Crisp—spicy, tingly, and loaded with umami—has earned a cult following, with fans drizzling it on everything from eggs to pizza.
