Grandma Malek inspired several Salt & Straw flavors, but none as beloved as Almond Brittle with Salted Ganache. Her famous almond brittle recipe is the heart of this legendary flavor, which holds a permanent spot on our December menu. Now, we’re bringing it to you as The Holiday Cake. Five decadent layers begin with an almond flour brown butter cake. Rich, nutty, and pleasantly toothsome, with more bite than the typical sponge. Next, two layers of our Double Fold vanilla ice cream, studded with slivers of Grandma Malek’s almond brittle, separated by a thick stratum of housemade salted chocolate ganache. Topping it all is what we’ve dubbed Christmas Crack: sweet and salty clusters of saltine Florentine cookies, drizzled in chocolate. Only from Salt & Straw—only for the holidays.
