Have you ever noticed that when you’ve got a head cold and your nose is all stuffed up, it’s harder to taste your chicken noodle soup? That’s because a large part of the experience of taste actually comes from our sense of smell. When the unique blends of chemicals that create the fragrances in foods are heated, the molecules are easily released and create big, bold aromas. However, when these same chemicals are brought down to the freezing temperatures of ice cream, they are slower to release, making ice cream one food that is noticeably devoid of aroma. With the help of our friends at Imaginary Authors, we set out to change that with the world’s most innovative ice cream topping: Culinary Perfume™, An Edible Fragrance.

Working with Imaginary Authors, a Portland perfume house known for thoughtful and nuanced fragrances, we set out to create a series of 100% edible perfumes that elevate the sensory experience by adding an entirely new dimension to our favorite treat. We created a range of fragrances that reference staples from your perfume collection while simultaneously amplifying and adding a new layer to how you experience ice cream. Our three new edible fragrances are A Cloud of Cocoa, A Swoon of Citrus, and A Plume of Blooms

FAQs:

Q: How do I use it?

A: Easy, give your Spritz 3-4 seconds to set on top of your scoop and take a nice deep breath in through your nose as you dive in to enjoy this brand new dimension of ice cream eating.

Q: Does it change the flavor of the ice cream?

A: Nope! The flavors enhance the ice cream eating experience with the inclusion of scent, but do not change the taste you love.

A Cloud of Cocoa

Sea Salt w/Caramel Ribbons
