Luis Father and Son

When Luis G. Brignoni was in college, his dad, Luis “Pops” Brignoni Sr. gifted him a home-brew kit. Originally brewing as a way to save money on beer, Luis continued, batch after batch, deepening his passion (and slight obsession) for crafting the perfect brew and eventually launched Wynwood Brewing with his father.

With both Luis’ at the helm, Wynwood Brewing brought forth the first craft production brewery in Miami. Family-owned and operated, this brewery is deeply rooted in the founders’ Puerto Rican heritage and namesake neighborhood, the Wynwood Arts District. Art is inherent to craft beer. It’s also inherent to Wynwood; a gathering of artisans and dreamers bringing art to life. It’s down to earth, gritty, genuine. In this neighborhood, there’s an intense sense of comradery. Wynwood Brewing is rooted in this, building up their community, taking care of each other, and the spirit of collaboration from grain to tap.

Wynwood Brewing takes a different approach to classic beers (think blonde and golden ales, pilsners, IPAs), and brews them with a South Florida approach. They craft these beers with great intention to bring out what originally inspired them about each style of beer, but give nod to the heat of Miami, meaning flavors that lean more tropical than floral, and pack a fresh punch you won’t find anywhere else.

In our Wynwood Brewing Mango Habanero IPA Sorbet (v), we take their hop-heavy Laces IPA and add a load of fresh habaneros, then cool it off with Florida mangoes and citrus. This beautifully clean, simple sorbet is as refreshingly quenchable as their beer.
