Meyer Lemon Buttermilk with Blueberries

Inspired by the sweet, tart, and soothing homemade lemon bars of our childhood, this Meyer lemon buttermilk ice cream is delicately sweet and just a touch zingy. We start by cooking down heaping amounts of Meyer lemons (zest and all!) until they turn the ice cream the color of freshly churned butter, then streak each batch with dark and luscious blueberry jam. Meyer Lemon Buttermilk with Blueberries was one of the very first flavors we made when we came to Los Angeles, and to this day, it holds a special place in our heart.
