Cream Cheese & Tomatillo Jam

Best known as the main ingredient in salsa verde, we wanted to show off the tomatillo’s sweeter, fragrant side. We make a jam from fresh tomatillos combined with lime juice and just the right amount of sugar, then ribbon the tasty fruit into cream cheese ice cream. The tomatillos are brought to us by Cottonwood Urban Farm, in Panorama City who partners with a local substance abuse program for youth to provide participants with a 10-week ecology course and horticulture therapy through work at the farm.
